At times, there may be error but we do try to use our best judgement at the time of posting, and will be glad to amend any details which are proved incorrect. Furthermore, even though we do not here discuss the human cost, we realize that losing anyone in an air accident is insurmountable tragedy to individuals, families and communities. We do extend our heartfelt sympathy to those whose loss we record here. Three River MI Lands on Frozen River


What: BE36 Bonanza en route from Brownsville, Texas to Three Rivers airport (Also reported as a single engine Cessna)
Where: on the frozen Saint Joseph river, east of Three Rivers MI
When: 01/06/2009 Tuesday afternoon.
Who: pilot, Fred Nelson Jr., his father, Fred Nelson Sr., and a dog. Both men and dog escaped injury.
Why: The pilot had been attempting to reach the Three Rivers airport. Icing on the wings forced the pilot to make a forced landing on a frozen river at Three Rivers where the river is half a mile wide and the ice is six inches thick
