Furthermore, even though we do not here discuss the human cost, we realize that losing anyone in an air accident is insurmountable tragedy to individuals, families and communities. Everglades Emergency Landing

What: single-engine Aero Commander 112 en route from Everglades Airpark
Where: Everglades Airpark south of Everglades City
When: Sunday, January 25, 2009
Who: pilot, 60-year-old William O'Neil, and passenger, 53-year-old Jeanne Graham
Why: After takeoff, the plane reportedly lost power , and the pilot attempted to bring the plane back down on the runway. Collier County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Karie Partington said "But it kind of bounced off the runway and into some brush." Only minor injuries were reported
