Furthermore, even though we do not here discuss the human cost, we realize that losing anyone in an air accident is insurmountable tragedy to individuals, families and communities. Washington Speed racer Dies in Plane Crash




What: experimental aircraft takeoff from the Richland, Wash.
Where: crashed on the runway
When: Thursday afternoon
Who: Pilot 72-year-old Charles Bigelow
Why: At 250 feet, the engine began to sputter and the aircraft crashed to the runway, killing the pilot
