We make a special effort here to record the facts as we receive them. At times, there may be error but we do try to use our best judgement at the time of posting, and will be glad to amend any details which are proved incorrect. Furthermore, even though we do not here discuss the human cost, we realize that losing anyone in an air accident is insurmountable tragedy to individuals, families and communities. We do extend our heartfelt sympathy to those whose loss we record here. Southwest Emergency Landing in Jacksonville

What: Southwest Flight 3726 passenger plane en route from Orlando to Washington, DC
Where: emergency landing in Jacksonville
When: 1/24/2009 2:45 pm Saturday
Who: 106 people on board
Why: After the pilot noticed smoke in the cockpit, the plane landed in Jacksonville. Usually when a pilot smells smoke, there's a problem with the AC or Hydraulic fan. After the incident, technicians studied the plane and passengers were accommodated. There were no injuries.
