We make a special effort here to record the facts as we receive them. At times, there may be error but we do try to use our best judgement at the time of posting, and will be glad to amend any details which are proved incorrect. Furthermore, even though we do not here discuss the human cost, we realize that losing anyone in an air accident is insurmountable tragedy to individuals, families and communities. We do extend our heartfelt sympathy to those whose loss we record here. Piper Emergency Landing in Litchfield


What: PA18 (Piper super cub)
Where: LITCHFIELD, MN a field near a patch of woods the Doerings own southeast of Elrosa. The crash site is 1/2f mile s of County Road 14
When: 01/10/2009
Who: 1 pilot 1 passenger Eric and Ray Doering
Why: The Piper landed in a field . 48 feet of touching down, deep snows flipped the aircraft. Minor damage made it necessary for the plane to be trailered out.
