At times, there may be error but we do try to use our best judgement at the time of posting, and will be glad to amend any details which are proved incorrect. Furthermore, even though we do not here discuss the human cost, we realize that losing anyone in an air accident is insurmountable tragedy to individuals, families and communities. We do extend our heartfelt sympathy to those whose loss we record here. Homebuilt Misses Drag Strip Landing in Hawaii


What: FP-404 registration# 81633 experimental single-engine biplane
Where: HILO Hawaii
When: 01/18/2009 7:10 am
Who: pilot Thomas Downey, 79
Why: When the engine failed at 2,500 feet, the pilot force landed on a drag strip, landing outside the perimeter fence. The pilot suffered an injury to his finger. The plane suffered damage to wings and landing gear.
