At times, there may be error but we do try to use our best judgement at the time of posting, and will be glad to amend any details which are proved incorrect. Furthermore, even though we do not here discuss the human cost, we realize that losing anyone in an air accident is insurmountable tragedy to individuals, families and communities. We do extend our heartfelt sympathy to those whose loss we record here. Piper Crashes in Rhode Island


What: Piper PA-32 registered to Robert A. Zoglio Jr. en route from T.F. Green Airport in Warwick to the smaller facility in Smithfield.
Where: a half-mile southeast of the runway at North Central State Airport in Smithfield.
When: The crash was reported after 5 p.m.
Who: Two occupants of the plane were killed. Both were pilots.
Why: Under investigation. The intent had been to do a practice approach, but the plane lost power.
