At times, there may be error but we do try to use our best judgement at the time of posting, and will be glad to amend any details which are proved incorrect. Furthermore, even though we do not here discuss the human cost, we realize that losing anyone in an air accident is insurmountable tragedy to individuals, families and communities. Yak 52 Crashes; pilot and passenger lost




What: Russian-built Yak-52 stunt plane flying from Archerfield Airport on Brisbane's southside
Where: off South Stradbroke Island, Jumpinpin Australia in south-east Queensland. Wreckage was found after a significant search in about 20 metres of water
When: Sunday Aug 31 12.30pm AEST
Who: veteran pilot Barry Hempel and 20 year old passenger. The pilot and passenger are missing.
Why: no reasons listed; crash is under investigation
