At times, there may be error but we do try to use our best judgement at the time of posting, and will be glad to amend any details which are proved incorrect. Furthermore, even though we do not here discuss the human cost, we realize that losing anyone in an air accident is insurmountable tragedy to individuals, families and communities. Southwest Airlines Lands Safely



What: Southwest Airlines Flight 1206 Boeing 737 out of Midway Airport en route to to Hartford, Conn
Where: emergency landing at the South Bend Regional Airport
When: 10 p.m. Sunday
Who: more than 100 passengers (132 passengers and five crew members)
Why: crew smelled smoke in the cockpit. South Bend mechanics checked out the plane and the flight continuwith an arrival time of 3:15 a.m. EDT
