Furthermore, even though we do not here discuss the human cost, we realize that losing anyone in an air accident is insurmountable tragedy to individuals, families and communities. United Airlines flight 1139




What: United Airlines flight 1139 bound for San Francisco from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport
Where: Seattle-Tacoma International Airport
When: Sunday evening 5:20 p.m
Who: Only one injury. A 61-year-old woman sitting in Row 4 suffered a knee injury and was transported to Highline Medical Center. She was re-booked on a first-class seat to San Francisco.
Why: A row of seats gave way during takeoff and slid into the row behind it. A bolt holding down three occupied seats in Row 3 loosened and the seats slid backward into the three passengers in Row 4. After the incident, the pilot returned to the airport. The plane returned to service, heading to San Francisco at 8:56 p.m. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and National Transportation Safety Board are investigating,
