Private Crashes in Santa Clara killing One




What: Single-engine SOCATA Rallye airplane crash taking off from South County Airport
Where: crashed into a California Highway Patrol truck scale building in Santa Clara County near Gilroy
When: 6 pm, Wednesday Aug. 20
Who: Pilot Martin Shapiro of Palo Alto
Why: Cause is under investigation
