Furthermore, even though we do not here discuss the human cost, we realize that losing anyone in an air accident is insurmountable tragedy to individuals, families and communities. Emergency Landing in Glendale Field




What: single-engine plane flying from the Glendale Municipal Airport a little after 10 a.m
Where: emergency landing on a dirt field in the West Valley near 99th and Olive avenues, about two miles north of the Glendale Municipal Airport
When: Tuesday
Who: Pilot and passengers names not disclosed
Why: Pilot experienced a “rough-running” engine shortly after takeoff, attempted to return to the airport and ended up landing in a vacant lot and striking a fence. It was a hard landing but no fatalities.
