Furthermore, even though we do not here discuss the human cost, we realize that losing anyone in an air accident is insurmountable tragedy to individuals, families and communities. We do extend our heartfelt sympathy to those whose loss we record here. Emergency landing




What: single-engine 1980 Beechcraft A36 Bonanza on approach to Pontiac Municipal Airport
Where: Livingston County on Interstate 55 southbound at milepost 214 1/2 near Dwight.
When: 5:52 p.m
Who: pilot Larry D. Kerr, flight instructor, Robert M. Jones and passenger, Robert S. Deckerd
Why: engine problems during its approach to Pontiac Airport

The plane suffered minor damage to the right wing after it struck a mile marker. Two semi-trailer truck drivers stopped traffic so that the plane could land safely.
