Furthermore, even though we do not here discuss the human cost, we realize that losing anyone in an air accident is insurmountable tragedy to individuals, families and communities. Emergency landing




What: single-engine 1980 Beechcraft A36 Bonanza on approach to Pontiac Municipal Airport
Where: Livingston County on Interstate 55 southbound at milepost 214 1/2 near Dwight.
When: 5:52 p.m
Who: pilot Larry D. Kerr, flight instructor, Robert M. Jones and passenger, Robert S. Deckerd
Why: engine problems during its approach to Pontiac Airport

The plane suffered minor damage to the right wing after it struck a mile marker. Two semi-trailer truck drivers stopped traffic so that the plane could land safely.
