Furthermore, even though we do not here discuss the human cost, we realize that losing anyone in an air accident is insurmountable tragedy to individuals, families and communities. PHI Medical Evacuation Emergency Landing


What: PHI Bell 407 medical helicopter
Where: emergency landing about 11 miles south of Lafayette--a parking lot at U.S. 231 and Indiana 28 in Romney
When: Monday afternoon
Who: A pilot, nurse, paramedic and patient
Why: The PHI Bell 407 medical helicopter a patient when it was forced to land due to a mechanical problem Monday afternoon. An ambulance carried the patient to St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Lafayette.
